Technical Sales Specialist, Single-Cell Solutions
Great opportunity for a Technical Sales Specialist to join our Lifesciences team and drive new business growth with our BD Rhapsody Single-Cell Product portfolio across ANZ. This position can be based in Sydney or Melbourne, Australia.
Job SummaryWe are the makers of possible. BD is a leading global medical technology company. The BD Biosciences team will offer customers a complete BD solution through successful positioning of the BD Rhapsody Single Cell Multiomics portfolio. The role covers key accounts across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) and involves face-to-face selling, relationship building, education, technical support, and representation at trade displays to drive growth in the ANZ market.
Responsibilities- Lead sales activities for the BD Rhapsody Single-Cell Multiomics (scM) platform across ANZ.
- Achieve revenue and gross profit targets within key accounts, contributing to the overall BD BioSciences business objectives.
- Develop and maintain a robust short- and long-term pipeline to generate new opportunities and profitable revenue.
- Understand the primary scientific objectives and scM needs of key accounts.
- Develop and execute tailored customer strategies to capture new opportunities and expand BD's footprint.
- Build strong relationships across all levels of customer organizations with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and trends within the scM space.
- Gather and communicate market intelligence to support targeted marketing strategies and tactics.
- Position BD's technology and value proposition to differentiate from competitors.
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Applications teams to drive sales and profit growth.
- Align internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of commercial strategies.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Inventory Control, Finance, Regulatory, and other internal teams to support customer success.
- Foster positive relationships with external stakeholders including suppliers, customers, partners, industry associations, and government representatives.
- Represent BD professionally in industry forums, conferences, and customer engagements.
- Completed tertiary education, BSc or equivalent in life sciences.
- Excellent product knowledge of the BD Biosciences portfolio including reagents and instrumentation.
- Genomics or Molecular Biology lab experience would be advantageous.
- Self-starter able to work independently and within teams to drive results using the BD Rhapsody single-cell system.
- Demonstrated sales experience across portfolios including laboratory consumables and/or capital equipment is preferable.
- Laboratory experience preferably in Immunology, Genomics, Molecular Biology, and Cell Biology.
- Proven business acumen and sales capability; resilient and proactive.
- Strong attention to detail.
The position requires significant direct interaction with customers and travel up to 70%. We are looking for applicants passionate about advancing single-cell research and who would like to join a diverse team that supports scientific, training, and commercial efforts.
