The Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Specialist at Janus Electric is responsible for managing the company's financial transactions, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency across both accounts payable and accounts receivable. This role is also responsible for preparing and processing the fortnightly payroll. Success in this position requires strong organisational skills, keen attention to detail, and effective communication with both internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely payments while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations, to ensure timely and accurate receipt of payments.
  • Maintain vendor and customer accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare and analyse financial reports related to accounts payable and accounts receivable as required.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate coding and approval of invoices.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare cash forecasts based on accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Support audit activities and provide necessary documentation to auditors as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable roles, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero is preferred) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
