Job Description

Role : Principal Project Manager – Transformation

Locations : Townsville, QLD

Duration : Contract – 12 months

Working Rights : Open to PR / Australian Citizens

Working Arrangements : Onsite, can arrange for 1-day WFH

Talent Street is looking for 2 x Principal Project Managers for one of the largest local government authorities in Northern Australia.

1 x Technical Stream

1 x Business Stream

Key Requirements

Qualifications :

  • Tertiary qualification (Project Management / Business) or significant industry experience within project / program management (Agile / Waterfall).
  • ITIL or ITSM certifications preferred.
  • Formal Project or Program Management qualifications with demonstrated industry experience.
  • Current Queensland 'C' Class Drivers Licence.

Skills and Knowledge :

  • Project Management proficiency, with the ability to apply this to an environment with complex and changing requirements.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, team management, negotiation, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in project schedule development and management, including critical path analysis, monitoring and control, on complex large-scale ICT projects, preferably using Microsoft Project Online.
  • Highly developed skills in managing workload and prioritisation of work.
  • High level of managerial skills, including human resource management, information and knowledge management, service level management, quality management, and financial management.
  • Highly developed stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Ability to apply creative problem-solving techniques in a highly complex environment.

Experience :

  • 8-10 years' experience in project management, ideally in technology projects in large and complex environments (TechOne cloud migration experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated proficiency up to a high level of skills and experience in delivering small to multiple, complex projects simultaneously within a large multi-disciplinary organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience role modelling a positive safety culture and adherence to the Health Safety Management Systems through visible leadership and exercising due diligence and management of compliance and legislative obligations.
