Join to apply for the Technical Delivery Manager role at Davidson
The Role
As a Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) within Davidson Technology Consulting, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives for our clients across financial services. Operating at the intersection of strategy, technology and execution, you will enable outcomes that align with client business priorities while driving operational excellence, technical quality, and consulting value.
This is a senior client-facing consulting role requiring delivery leadership, solution fluency, and consulting professionalism across a dynamic portfolio of engagements and will be accountable for leading the successful delivery of complex technology programs across Davidson Technology Consulting's (DTC) diverse client base. Positioned at the nexus of delivery leadership, technical execution, and client value realisation, the TDM drives high-impact outcomes across cloud modernisation, enterprise platforms, integration, and digital transformation initiatives.
As a TDM, you will lead and inspire cross-functional delivery teams - including consultants, engineers, analysts, and partner vendors - to ensure delivery excellence across multiple engagements. You will establish high-performing team environments, foster psychological safety, and champion professional development and wellbeing, especially in embedded or distributed delivery settings. Your ability to build trusted relationships, coach others, and role model DTC's values will be critical to scaling a consistent, people-first consulting culture.
In addition to program delivery, the role carries responsibility for team engagement, mentoring emerging consultants, and contributing to DTC's consulting practice through uplift of delivery frameworks, methods, and reusable IP. You will work closely with client executives, internal delivery leaders, and commercial stakeholders to ensure delivery aligns with strategic objectives, is commercially viable, and enables sustainable growth for both client and consultant alike.
This role requires strong interpersonal and leadership skills, commercial acumen, and a bias for execution. It is ideal for a delivery leader who thrives in dynamic client environments and is passionate about both what gets delivered and how we engage and grow the people who deliver it
Key Responsibilities:
Client-Centric Delivery Leadership
- Own the successful delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary technology projects across client portfolios
- Operate as the primary engagement lead, managing delivery plans, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations
- Translate strategic intent into execution roadmaps, aligning business value with delivery cadence
Multi-Engagement & Agile Delivery
- Run concurrent projects across multiple client sites, scaling delivery teams up/down based on scope and velocity
- Apply Agile, SAFe, or hybrid methodologies suitable for client maturity, ensuring transparency and continuous delivery
- Coordinate technical teams, business analysts, solution architects, and change leads across the full SDLC
Strategic Stakeholder & Account Engagement
- Serve as a trusted advisor to CIOs, Heads of Technology, and Business Sponsors
- Support account growth through identification of follow-on opportunities and expansion pathways
- Collaborate with DTC Client Partners and Sales to shape and scope new consulting engagements
Technical Delivery Assurance
- Ensure technical soundness and delivery integrity across application, data, infrastructure, and integration layers
- Manage delivery risk proactively: RAID management, delivery reviews, in line with compliance frameworks
- Embed continuous improvement and drive IP reuse across engagements
Commercial & Contractual Accountability
- Own delivery financials - time, scope, budget and margin adherence across fixed price, T&M, and hybrid models
- Work closely with DTC commercial teams on SOWs, variations, and deliverable acceptance management
Qualifications / Experience
Technical & Consulting
- 8-12 years in technical delivery and/or consulting roles, including at least 3 years in a client-facing delivery leadership role
- Proven experience across cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), platforms (Salesforce, SAP, Microsoft), and/or legacy-modernisation programs
Engagement Management Skills
- Experience delivering within professional services or consulting environments
- Ability to shape delivery approaches in pre-sales, contribute to bid responses, and conduct client discovery
Certifications & Frameworks
- Cloud certifications (AWS/GCP/Azure Foundations or Architect Associate) desirable
- Knowledge of ITIL, TOGAF or architecture frameworks a plus
Consulting Attributes
- Gravitas and communication skills to engage senior stakeholders and translate delivery complexities into business language.
- Strong commercial acumen: able to balance delivery excellence with profitability, scope management, and client satisfaction.
- Bias for action and adaptability in fast-paced, ambiguous client environments.
Why Join Us?
- Deliver complex, high-value technology programs for leading organisations across financial services - solving real problems that matter
- Join a supportive, values-led team that priorities trust, flexibility, wellbeing and professional growth - not just billable hours
- Access tailored career development, leadership mentoring and diverse engagements - all within a boutique consultancy that respects work-life balance
