About the role :
The Community Health Programs operate from GV Health's Corio Street campus and include Community Health and Self-Management Support services. These programs provide a diverse range of services to consumers in the Goulburn Valley region. Community Health services include dietetics, occupational therapy, the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Outreach Program, physiotherapy, podiatry, sexual health nursing, and speech pathology. The Self-Management Support service offers health coaching for people with chronic diseases, as well as QUIT education and group programs.
Reporting to the Manager of Community Health Programs, the Speech Pathologist will provide assessment and therapeutic interventions to children aged 0–6 years and their families, addressing developmental delays, neurological conditions, pre-diagnosis Autism Spectrum Disorders, feeding issues, and other health and developmental concerns. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team and liaising with internal and external service providers to facilitate collaborative service delivery and positive outcomes. Services are primarily provided onsite, including individual assessments, therapy, and group programs delivered with an Occupational Therapist and supported by a Team Assistant.
The successful applicant will have :
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Excellent knowledge, skills, and experience in evidence-based assessment and therapeutic intervention for young children and their families.
- The ability to work collaboratively as an individual practitioner within a multidisciplinary team environment.
