Job DescriptionThis team is the single entry point for new referrals into the Area Mental Health Service. The role is dynamic, fast-paced, and requires a clinician with very strong phone-based triage experience to ensure safe and effective care pathways.
About the role- Provide recovery-oriented and trauma-informed mental health triage
- Conduct screening assessments across the lifespan
- Assess and manage risk, allocating follow-up care in line with Victorian Mental Health Triage Response categories
- Direct referrals to the most appropriate team or external provider
- Support after-hours bed management for acute admissions
- Maintain accurate documentation in MasterCare and TRAK
- Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN3) with proven experience in mental health triage, clinical decision-making, and crisis assessment
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Must have own car and ability to travel (fuel reimbursed within VIC)
- Rate: $ $86.89 per hour + penalties + super
- Travel: Fuel reimbursement within VIC
- Contract length: 12 weeks | ASAP start

- Previous private mental health hospital experience

- Permanent, full-time nursing positions (no casual or contract work)
- Salary aligned with experience under Level 1.4 RN classification

As a Locum Mental Health Registered Nurse with CMR, you'll experience a range of meaningful roles across Australia's mental health care landscape. From community outreach to acute interventions, you'll provide critical support and care in:
- Acute Mental Health: Work in fast-paced acute care settings, managing urgent mental health crises, stabilising patients, and coordinating with emergency services. Use your crisis intervention skills to make a rapid impact during high-pressure situations.
- Inpatient Units: Deliver consistent, supportive care to individuals requiring more intensive mental health support. You'll manage daily assessments, administer medication, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to help stabilise and rehabilitate patients on their path to recovery.

Criteria:
