Overview

Maintenance Fitter role at Visy. Hands-on Maintenance Fitter with practical experience in a maintenance environment, based across Australia.

Location: across Australia. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment to support the Maintenance team.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring adherence to safe work practices, site policies and procedures, including contractor compliance.
  • Providing mechanical maintenance assistance to operators, line maintainers and production personnel in all manufacturing areas and departments where and when required.
  • Providing information and recommendations to Team Leaders and Managers that will assist in improving uptime of equipment and extending equipment lifecycles.
  • Assisting with ensuring parts are reliably sourced and ordered to enable effective planned maintenance and high-quality repairs.
  • Aid with team problem solving and decision making.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to production, packaging, and engineering services personnel on preventative maintenance, planned maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with developing improvements within the Production Team.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve Preventative Maintenance routines along with overhaul scheduling and documentation.
What you will bring
  • Trade qualified and completed apprenticeship
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience of pneumatics and hydraulic systems
  • Competent welding skills
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Hands-on practical experience in a maintenance environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • SAP Maintenance or other CMMS
