Overview

This is a unique opportunity to drive the strategic direction for the City of Ryde's social and cultural infrastructure. You will lead the development and delivery of the Council's plans, placing the community at the forefront of what we do. You will work on key items including the development and implementation of our Social Plan, Creativity Strategy, Library Strategy, Halls & Facilities Strategy, the Disability Inclusion Action Plan, and the Reconciliation Action Plan.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a vision for the proactive and positive development of Council's Cultural and Social infrastructure.
  • Lead the development and delivery of Council plans related to social and cultural initiatives.
  • Foster a high-performing team environment, identify gaps, and provide solutions.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to translate innovative plans into actions.

About You

We value people and the facilities they deserve. We are seeking a leader with experience in a similar role who can inspire collaboration and develop a multi-disciplinary team. You should be able to think creatively and drive outcomes through partnerships.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in community development, cultural and social infrastructure planning, town planning, social sciences, economics, commerce, infrastructure advisory, or business management.
  • Ability to develop and implement a vision for proactive development of Council's Cultural and Social infrastructure.
  • Strong relationship-building, influencing, consultation, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of the interface between public wellbeing, urban design, and community planning to achieve positive social, economic, and environmental outcomes.
  • Experience in policy and strategy development and implementation, with ability to deliver research, analysis and conceptual thinking.
  • Demonstrated project management ability to develop, administer and manage projects with diverse outcomes.
Salary and Benefits

Your commencing annual salary will range from $174,500 to $226,862 + Leaseback Vehicle + Superannuation, dependent on experience and qualifications.
