The Business Development Manager – Monitoring will be responsible for identifying and driving sales opportunities for advanced Monitoring Systems and associated software solutions across NSW.

You will play a key role in the identification, establishment, and maintenance of business development initiatives for a comprehensive range of Deformation Monitoring products. This includes wireless structural health monitoring systems, geotechnical and environmental sensors, optical total station systems, GNSS-based monitoring solutions, and the integration of associated software. Your role will encompass providing expert client and account management, ensuring high-performance outcomes across all monitoring technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish a market leadership position for Monitoring in NSW.
  2. Develop and maintain industry networks actively to leverage opportunities.
  3. Analyse new business opportunities.
  4. Contribute to setting annual sales budgets and work directly with the regional sales teams to meet or exceed these targets.
  5. Provide proposals as required by customers.
  6. Negotiate all aspects of a customer's order within company policies.
  7. Provide excellent customer service and support via competent and timely technical and commercial advice.
  8. Monitor and provide feedback on customers, competitors' activities, the business climate, monitoring technology advancements and market movements to identify sales trends that can enhance Aptella's market share.
  9. Ensure that a current business plan is in place.
  10. Planning and managing of time to ensure personal and regional business plans are being executed and implemented.
  11. Create and implement proactive lead generation activities.

About You:

  1. Minimum 5 years' experience in a geospatial or geotechnical role.
  2. Minimum 2 years' experience in business-to-business relationships.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  4. Experience in sales, business development, and commercial negotiations.
  5. Proven time management skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  6. Proven client and account management skills, including personal presentation and communication skills.
  7. Exposure to monitoring technologies at an operational level.
  8. Experience in developing and marketing new product lines.
  9. Comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and companies.
  10. Results focused with strong attention to detail.
  11. Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  12. Team oriented, excellent interpersonal skills, and positive outgoing personality.
  13. Goal oriented, outcome focused, performance driven.
  14. Ability to build and manage relationships.
  15. Sound computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
  16. Display a high degree of professionalism and positive attitude.
  17. Comfort with taking initiative and working without constant oversight.
  18. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
