Job Description

We're looking for a passionate and talented Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef ready to step up, take on leadership responsibilities, and deliver exceptional dining experiences in the heart of the Hunter Valley.

What you'll do:

  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations
  • Lead and supervise sections of the kitchen during service
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and menu development
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with food safety standards
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to support team growth

Expected Hours: Full time, 38 hours per week

Location: Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort - 15 Thompsons Rd, Pokolbin NSW 2320

Salary: $75,000-$80,000 (excluding super)

Qualifications

What we're looking for:
  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar, ready to step up
  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for high-quality food
  • Ability to lead a section and work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
  • Relevant trade qualifications in commercial cookery
