Reporting to the director, our client is seeking a skilled and driven individual to join their team as a Business Development Manager within their Tax Audit Insurance (TAI) division. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced accounting professional (manager level or above) looking to transition careers and expand their expertise in the insurance sector.

Key responsibilities- Lead the Tax Audit Insurance (TAI) team, driving excellence and ensuring high performance across all team activities.
- Manage TAI business operations, focusing on sales growth, client retention and profitability.
- Liaise with the Marketing Manager to drive new business acquisitions.
- Manage the new client onboarding program and existing client renewal program.
- Nurture client relationships, ensuring continued satisfaction and promoting long-term partnerships.
- Oversee the Tax Audit software program and ensure continuous improvements.
- Strong communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach, able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong decision maker who can prioritise and adapt to changing demands.
- Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to deliver results.
- Ability to manage and develop employees in a dynamic start-up environment.
- Presentable, confident and professional as the role will require you to liaise with senior clients.
- Analytical problem solver.
- Enthusiastic for business growth and business development.
- Experienced accountant with business development or operational management exposure.
- Strong background in managing new and existing client relationships.
- Previous experience in managing a team (within the insurance industry would be a bonus).
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and especially Excel), with an understanding of the IT development process.
- Experience with client education, media content creation and marketing support.
- Current knowledge of the tax environment and related legislation and issues.
- Business, finance, or accounting degree.
- Experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Familiarity with accounting practice management software.
- Are a tight-knit company with less than 10 employees.
- Offer a competitive salary (AUD 110,000 to 130,000 exclusive of superannuation) with commission potential, all depending on experience.
- Operate on a hybrid working model – typically 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home.
- Offer a 9-day fortnight after 6 weeks of employment (every second Friday off with zero reduction in pay).
- Provide travel opportunities, including interstate trips 1-2 days per month, on average.
