Overview

At Arup, our Risk & Process Safety team solves complex challenges across diverse industries. We're looking for a Senior Engineer with expertise in Fire Risk or Dangerous Goods to lead projects, guide teams, and create safer, more sustainable outcomes for our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Lead high-quality technical project outcomes in Fire Risk and/or Dangerous Goods.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex, integrated engineering designs.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing knowledge and guiding development.
  • Manage project delivery from start to finish – timelines, quality, budgets, and client expectations.
  • Contribute to fee proposals, client communication, and ongoing development of our quality systems.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (preferably Fire Safety, Chemical or Mechanical) and Chartered/Registered status.
  • Expertise in Fire Risk or Dangerous Goods – from consulting, site/project management, or WHS in high-risk industries.
  • Strong technical skills in risk-based assessments, standards compliance, and safety design.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills, tailored for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A collaborative mindset, with a passion for mentoring and continuous professional growth.
