Position : Senior Development Manager

Location : Melbourne

Salary : $230-250k + super + bonus

Company : Global IPP

Projects : Utility Scale BESS & Solar (Projects across Australia)

This is not your every day Senior Development Manager role. This is true end to end development, with your chance to have a real input in strategy from right at the initial stages through to construction & commissioning. You will be supported with an in-house time of experts in all area (enviro, grid, financial modelling, commercial, legal etc etc) so you will have the tools and support to succeed.

Key Responsibilities For The Senior Development Manager

• Lead the identification, evaluation, and development or acquisition of greenfield renewable energy sites, with a focus on utility scale Solar & BESS projects (>

200MW)

Perform detailed market analysis and feasibility assessments, incorporating regulatory considerations, environmental factors, and financial performance indicators.Oversee project planning, including the development of schedules, budgets, and resource strategies to ensure on-time and cost-efficient delivery.Manage compliance with Australian regulatory frameworks, including environmental approvals, grid connection processes, and local government planning requirements.Work cross-functionally with engineering, finance, and legal teams to develop project proposals, contractual agreements, and robust financial models.Lead / support the negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and other commercial contracts with offtakers and stakeholderBuild and sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders such as landowners, government agencies, utilities, and local communities.Track and report on project milestones, proactively managing risks and resolving issues to maintain project momentum.Prepare and present internal reports at various stages of the project lifecycle to support strategic decision-making and governance.

Requirements for the Senior Development Manager :

Bachelor's and / or master's level degree in Engineering, Business, or similar relevant degrees.15 years of experience in a similar role the renewable energy sector.Proven Development experience in the renewable energy sector and be able to show a minimum of one project you have deliveredExcellent communication & organisational skillsExposure to development process from concept to final close.The ability to work proactively and within a teamProven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
