The Role

The Site PPM Lead (Project Portfolio Management) at the Virginia, Brisbane Facility leads a team with responsibilities spanning technology transfer, process optimization, regulatory compliance, and site strategic project support. The purpose is to lead and deliver all M&S Site Strategic Projects to milestone dates. Projects may include New Product Developments (NPDs), Existing Product Developments (EPDs), continuous improvements and strategic site projects.

This role ensures the Virginia Facility meets Opella's growth and regulatory objectives (GMP and market-specific requirements). By collaborating with the Development Centre and providing technical expertise and strategic direction, the PPM Lead helps maintain high standards of quality and efficiency in manufacturing operations. A major focus is the effective transfer of NPDs and EPDs into the Virginia site for successful GMP commercial manufacture. The role also emphasizes regional collaboration and knowledge sharing across Opella's production sites.

In addition, the Site PPM Lead participates in financial planning and budgeting for the PPM team and, in some cases, site strategic projects. The role may involve developing cost estimates for process improvements and justifying resources required for changes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the internal PPM Team at site, driving a high-performance culture and delivering to project plans regarding timing, quality, and supply
  • Manage and be accountable for all M&S Virginia non-engineering site projects as required
  • Collaborate with other functions outside of M&S that are key stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met
  • Establish and maintain a site project prioritisation process aligned with criticality and site objectives
  • Execute activities for site projects including planning, procurement, manufacturing process setups, Vista label processes and quality processes such as process validation, cleaning validation, stability requirements, change control setup and execution, and documentation initiation, review and approval
  • Act as the technical lead between Development Centre & M&S to ensure high-quality technology transfers
  • Stay updated with process sciences advancements, regulatory changes, and industry best practices
  • Provide strategic technical direction to improve processes in line with supply targets and regulatory changes
  • Identify and specify financial and human resources required for proposed changes
  • Support Manufacturing with new technologies and process improvements (NPD, EPD, transfers)
  • Work with R&D and Development Centre to onboard knowledge of new transferred processes
  • Ensure technical studies contribute to department objectives (process optimization, regulatory compliance, product quality)
  • Quality accountable for all projects: change controls, vendor assurance, deviations, process validation, stability, and manufacturing documentation
  • Support market expansions by identifying gaps and delivering on timings
  • Respond to regulatory questions and ensure evolving regulatory compliance
About YouQualifications
  • Scientific or Engineering Bachelor's Degree
Experience
  • Ideally minimum 5 years in Pharmatech, Consumer Healthcare or Food Manufacturing
  • Background in NPD Innovation Project Management in an industrial environment
  • Process validation and stability experience preferred
  • Exposure to tech transfer from Development Centre to production
  • Proven background in Process Continuous Improvement
