Head of Technologies

At St Hilda’s School we are passionate about providing an innovative and dynamic learning environment that nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and future-ready skills. Our STEM Institute focuses on Engineering, Design, and Technologies preparing students to excel in a rapidly evolving world. We are seeking a visionary and experienced leader to head our Technologies Faculty leading its strategic direction, driving innovation, and fostering excellence in teaching and learning.

As the Head of Technologies you will:

- Lead the strategic direction and continuous improvement of the Technologies curriculum
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences in Design Technologies and Engineering
- Foster a collaborative and innovative learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving
- Mentor and support staff within the Technologies Faculty, fostering professional growth and development
- Manage department resources, budgets and facilities to ensure the effective delivery of the Technologies program
- Build partnerships with industry leaders, universities, and external stakeholders to enhance student learning opportunities and outcomes
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in technology and engineering education, continuously improving the quality and relevance of our programs
- Engage with students, parents and the broader community to promote and advocate for the importance of technology in education

About You

We are looking for a passionate, forward-thinking leader with a strong background in engineering, design, and technology education. You will have:

- A degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Design, Technology, or related fields)
- Proven leadership experience within an educational institution or similar environment, with a track record of successfully leading teams.
- A deep understanding of Technologies education including curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire staff, students, and external partners
- A commitment to promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Experience building partnerships with industry, academia, and the wider community to enrich student learning

The successful applicant must hold Queensland College of Teachers registration and be willing to have their name submitted to the Anglican Church’s Professional Standards Register. The start date is negotiable for the right candidate.
