We are looking for Local - Entry level through to experienced Techs for our Cairns office

About the Role

We're on the hunt for highly versatiletechnician with current technology skillset to join the dynamic TJ Microsystems team in our Cairns office.

Computer Network and Systems Engineer

Ideal Candidates for this role should have 1-10 Years experience across design, implementation, maintenance, support and troubleshooting of Microsoft Server network environments. Experience in implementation projects, networking, virtualization in a managed IT services environment and equivalent Bachelor Degree or Higher and other industry qualifications are an advantage.

Experienced Engineers would ideally have used RMM tools such as Labtech, Kaseya or N-Able and PSA ticketing tools such as ConnectWise or Autotask. All qualifications are an advantage.

But you MUST be self-motivated, have good time management skills and a positive attitude. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and fluent English are critical, as you will have constant direct contact with clients undertaking:

  • Supporting basic and complex network types ranging from 5 to 200+ users
  • Supporting Microsoft 365, Windows Server & Desktop Technologies & Cloud Environments
  • Installing, configuring, testing, maintaining and optimising networks, applications, Servers and Workstations.
  • Configuration, installation of routers, firewalls, network switches, local/network printers scanners and Wireless Access Points.
  • Network Security analysis and design
  • Assessing and recommending improvements on client's IT Network environments (optimising networks, system upgrades, rack tidy ups etc.)
  • Updating and Creation of IT documentation including Disaster Recovery planning, IT Systems guidelines and procedures
  • Design and Integration of network and IT systems including third party applications
  • Provision of advice and strategic IT Planning for IT Infrastructure for both On premises, legacy and Cloud infrastructure
  • Occasionally work outside of usual business hours to accommodate client support needs.
  • As you will travel to client premises at times, a Current Australian Drivers Licence is essential.

The role involves providing technical drive to work with the entire team and priority escalation including management of critical and complex issues and emergencies. Experience in Pre sales engineering and working with the sales team in evaluating system design and architecture in preparation of complex SOW documents and project proposals would be an advantage.

You will be required to plan, install, manage, and maintain the following technologies:

  • Microsoft Server Platforms
  • Sophos CyberSecurity products
  • Cisco Networking, Ubiquity Wireless products
  • Cloud Migrations
  • Lenovo, HP, Dell technologies
