Job Description:

Your Mission

As an Expert Graphics Engineer, you will optimize, enhance, and develop new rendering systems on top of Call of Duty's AAA engine technology. You will collaborate with passionate graphics engineers across all of Activision's studios to define and shape our graphics technology, ensuring Call of Duty remains visually cutting-edge.

You will develop graphics systems for shipping products and improve the workflows of our development team. Proficiency in writing efficient, clean C/C++ and shader code is required. Candidates should have a background in graphics engine development, including modern graphics techniques, GPUs, graphics APIs, shaders, multi-threading, memory management, performance, and optimization.

This role is located at Sledgehammer Games' Melbourne studio.

  1. Develop, modify, optimize, and debug rendering engine systems
  2. Deploy, evaluate performance, and test software across supported platforms
  3. Communicate features and development updates with production, engineering, design, and art teams
  4. Participate in performance and code reviews
  5. Contribute to the design and roadmap of AAA graphics engine technology
  6. Collaborate with engineering and art teams
  7. Report to the Lead Graphics Engineer
Player Profile
Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience developing and optimizing graphics systems
  • Understanding of computer architecture, GPUs, multithreading, and memory systems
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++
  • Experience writing shaders (HLSL or equivalent)
  • Development experience on current generation platforms (console, PC, mobile)
  • Familiarity with modern graphics APIs (D3D12, Vulkan, PS4/PS5, etc.)
  • Debugging and profiling skills on CPU and GPU
  • Strong 3D math background
Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Math
  • Ability to write efficient, reliable, and readable code

  • Passion for games and graphics technology
Bonus Points:

Experience with GPU Compute, physically based rendering/lighting, raytracing, modern consoles, profilers, and toolchains. Background in collaborating with artists on graphics features is a plus.
