About the role:
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Shift Supervisor on a 7:7 roster to join our Wilpinjong Mine. Located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee, our Wilpinjong Mine is an open-cut mine producing high-quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.

Our supervisors play a crucial role in engaging the team and setting and driving standards to ensure the crew safely achieves high plant availability and reliability. This role offers respect and autonomy, allowing you to determine your own outcomes, with accessible support from the Maintenance Superintendent. You will manage all planned, breakdown, and repair activities, and communicate changes impacting mine priorities. You will contribute to a dynamic team culture and the successful performance of the mine.

Duties will include:

  • Providing input into short and long-term maintenance plans
  • Leading, motivating, and supporting team members and contractors, taking accountability for team performance
  • Executing planned, breakdown, and improvement work, including minor projects and reliability initiatives
  • Reducing equipment downtime by ensuring maintenance activities are well-planned, staffed, and executed safely and efficiently
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, including cost-saving initiatives
  • Communicating issues that impact planned work and extend equipment downtime
  • Applying problem-solving skills and self-motivation to develop solutions and plans for workplace challenges

This position operates on a rotating 7 on, 7 off day/night shift roster, offering a residential lifestyle in the nearby Mudgee district. The roster provides regular time off and the opportunity to be home at the end of each shift.

About the candidate:

  • Strong commitment to leading a safety-focused team culture, demonstrated through actions
  • Significant leadership skills, including mentorship, identifying training needs, and conducting performance management
  • Trade or Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a similar role
  • Experience applying best practice maintenance techniques to optimize equipment availability
  • Knowledge of field equipment such as CAT, Hitachi, Liebherr, and Epiroc drills
  • Experience with SAP maintenance applications is advantageous
