The Chief Cardiac Technologist leads the cardiac diagnostics team with clinical and technical expertise, overseeing the delivery of high-quality cardiac diagnostic services.

The role includes responsibility for advanced assessments, surveillance, and reporting of implantable cardiac devices (pacemakers, ICDs), Holter monitoring, exercise stress testing, and stress echocardiography.

The Chief Cardiac Technologist provides support to the sonography service with their ability to perform transthoracic echocardiograms, assist with transesophageal echocardiograms, ultrasound-guided pericardiocentesis. As such the position requires the chief cardiac technologist to have detailed knowledge in cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathology to identify and escalate when there are variations in anatomy and pathological processes.
