We now have a permanent full-time position for an experienced Technician based in Sydney (Pyrmont).

Role: Sr Technician

What you'll do:

As part of the Technology team, the Sr Technician will provide IT and systems support to all departments within the station. This role offers exposure to a diverse range of equipment, from studio cameras and standardised IT infrastructure to customised applications, servers, and SAN storage.

Key functions include:

  • Technical support and maintenance of Broadcast and IT equipment
  • Collaborating with equipment suppliers to ensure minimal downtime and optimal reliability
  • Providing professional service and guidance to end users and clients
  • Documentation of systems and procedures

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Qualifications in IT or Systems Engineering
  • Experience with Linux OS and scripting
  • Windows Systems Administration
  • Network Administration and Support
  • Hardware troubleshooting

Preferred experience:

  • Supporting post-production systems
  • Broadcast graphics equipment
  • Media Asset Management systems
  • SQL or Oracle databases

Skills and attributes:

  • Ability to work well under pressure in time-critical situations
  • Operate professionally and courteously
  • Effective communication skills
  • Problem assessment and resolution skills
  • Interest in keeping up with rapid technological developments in Broadcast and IT industries

Note: This position involves a rotating shift roster, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and occasional overnight shifts.
