Interview DetailsInterview Day – Wednesday 27th August – Time and place to be confirmed. This campaign is for those not eligible to participate in an EST Program.
Role Responsibilities- Clean patient rooms, theatres, offices, restrooms, and public areas to maintain high hygiene standards
- Use approved disinfectants, sanitise high-touch surfaces, and follow infection control protocols
- Perform deep cleans in high-risk areas and handle biohazardous waste safely
- Strip/make beds (ED), clean rooms post-discharge, and manage soiled linen and laundry tasks
- Operate, maintain, and check cleaning equipment; report faults or hazards
- Safely segregate and dispose of general and hazardous waste
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies; maintain accurate inventory records
- Follow all OH&S and hospital safety protocols, using PPE as required
- Collaborate with staff, attend training, and assist with onboarding of new cleaners
- Maintain professional conduct and support continuous improvement in cleaning standards
- Previous experience in commercial or healthcare cleaning is preferred
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning practices
- Understanding of infection prevention and control procedures
- Valid Police Check and Working with Children Check (employee version), or willingness to obtain
- Updated Covid and Flu vaccinations and serology report
- Customer service-oriented with attention to detail
- Self-directed and able to work as part of a team
- Capacity to resolve conflicts and negotiate with others
- Follow instructions and take direction
- Understand and follow hospital infection control protocols and adhere to workplace safety regulations; use cleaning chemicals and equipment correctly
