Principal Technical Services and Estimating

Are you a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in mining operations? We're seeking a Principal – Technical Services & Estimating to lead and influence high-impact projects across our contract mining portfolio.

About You

  • Lead technical services and estimating functions across multiple mining projects.
  • Drive operational excellence through innovative mine modelling and productivity initiatives.
  • Mentor and coach technical teams to build capability and deliver value.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop commercially sound and technically robust solutions.
  • Review feasibility studies, optimise schedules and designs, and review operational risk.
  • Excellent knowledge of mining methods and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of operational drivers that enhance productivity, efficiency, and client value.
  • Proven relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident, analytical, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Sound knowledge of mine modelling to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical modelling capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a contract mining environment.
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and a track record of developing successful initiatives.
  • Well-developed technical and operational mining skills.
  • Strategic and lateral thinking capabilities.
  • Broader management skills, including business development desired but not required.
  • Passion for innovation and emerging technologies in mining and mining best practice.
  • Previous experience in mine design, technical services and optimisation desired.
