We're looking for a switched-on Senior Bookkeeper to join our growing team and take the lead on bookkeeping, payroll, and day-to-day finance operations for a portfolio of small-to-medium business clients. You'll work closely with business owners and our accounting team, providing accurate, timely information and helping clients stay on top of their numbers.

This role offers the perfect balance of independence and support. You'll own your client relationships, deliver high-quality work, and contribute to improving systems and processes across the board.

Managing end-to-end bookkeeping using Xero and cloud-based tools

Processing payroll and STP lodgements (weekly, fortnightly, or monthly)

Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and clearing accounts

Preparing and lodging BAS and IAS

Assisting clients with accounts payable/receivable setup and reporting

Helping clients streamline processes and improve efficiency

Collaborating with the accounting team to support tax and compliance work

Reviewing work prepared by junior or offshore bookkeepers

About You

We're looking for someone who's confident, reliable, and tech-savvy — someone who enjoys building strong client relationships and takes pride in tidy, accurate files.

You'll be a great fit if you have:

4+ years' experience in a bookkeeping role (public practice or bookkeeping firm preferred)

Advanced proficiency with Xero and other cloud systems (e.g. Dext, Hubdoc, KeyPay, Xero Payroll)

Solid understanding of GST, payroll, and compliance requirements

Confidence communicating directly with business owners

A knack for identifying inconsistencies and fixing messy files

Experience overseeing or reviewing junior/offshore work (desirable)

High attention to detail and strong time management skills

A proactive, helpful attitude and a love of solving problems
