We are seeking a driven and experienced Head of Maintenance to lead the maintenance function across our Melbourne operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, this pivotal leadership role offers the opportunity to shape a growing team and drive plant performance through strategic projects and maintenance excellence.

Your Key Responsibilities:

As Head of Maintenance, your role spans across leadership, operations, safety, and strategic improvement:

Support the Maintenance Manager in developing a skilled team of mechanical and electrical technicians

Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement

Lead performance reviews, succession planning, and team capability development

Maintenance Operations & Reliability

Oversee all reactive and preventative maintenance on plant equipment, utilities, and infrastructure

Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime

Maintain records and ensure timely completion of work orders and audits

Lead capital projects including equipment upgrades, layout changes, and facility enhancements

Identify opportunities for automation, energy efficiency, and cost savings

Partner with production and quality teams to drive process and system improvements

Strategic & Regulatory Oversight

Develop long-term asset management strategies and budget planning

Ensure compliance with food safety standards, OH&S, environmental regulations, and customer quality systems

Prepare reports for executive leadership, highlighting KPIs, risks, and strategic plans

What We're Looking For:

Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical or related field but not essential

Proven success leading multi-disciplinary maintenance teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (food or FMCG preferred)

Strong project management skills and experience delivering capital improvement initiatives

Deep understanding of food safety systems, regulatory standards, and maintenance best practices

Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities
