Overview

Group Accountant role at BGIS. This role sits within our high-performing finance team in Sydney CBD. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in the office / 2 days from home) and is close to public transport. You will be the go-to subject matter expert for IFRS16 lease accounting and Capex, play a key role in SOX compliance, and lead process improvements that shape how we work. With exposure across our diverse business and strong global backing, this role is a true career builder.

Responsibilities
  • Own the month-end close and drive accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Lead on IFRS16 lease accounting and act as the Capex accounting specialist.
  • Support SOX testing and external audit requirements.
  • Partner with senior leaders, IT, and Transformation teams to ensure budgets and forecasts are on track.
  • Drive automation and process improvements across finance.
  • Provide expert accounting guidance, training, and support to the wider business.
Qualifications
  • CA/CPA qualified with 3+ years' financial accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and compliance.
  • Experience in statutory reporting, audit, and treasury support.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets.
  • A proactive, collaborative, and solution-focused approach.
