Foodlink Australia is one of the largest, fastest-growing Food Service Distributors in New South Wales. We require a Seafood Operations Manager to head our Seafood processing department based at our Kingsgrove warehouse and distribution facility in Sydney.

The Seafood Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of the Foodlink Seafood department, including fish processing and distribution, to ensure the highest quality seafood offering as part of our successful food service business. This position is responsible for a team of 30 staff and involves shift work, generally from 10 pm to 6 am each day.

The role reports to the Head of Operations and is responsible to:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the seafood processing/production facility
  • Work closely with the Head of Operations to ensure operational goals, objectives, and KPIs are achieved
  • Collaborate with our Quality and Safety Manager to ensure compliance with HACCP standards, including developing documented policies and procedures
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, reduce waste, and improve customer satisfaction
  • Manage team and team leader performance
  • Participate in HACCP audits and implement corrective actions as required
  • Coordinate with other departments to integrate seafood offerings with warehouse procedures, inventory management, purchasing, logistics, and customer service

Essential requirements include seafood knowledge and previous experience in operations, along with:

  • Strong leadership experience within FMCG or distribution sectors
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for leading, coaching, and mentoring teams
  • Solution-focused, data-driven approach, fostering new ideas and initiatives
  • Collaborative and inclusive communication style with stakeholders
  • Ability to cultivate a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • High understanding of Food Quality Standards
  • Attention to detail and effective time management skills
  • Proficiency in computer use, written communication, and Excel

Required:
