Redland City Council offers you the chance to improve lives and shape your own career… in a truly special place.

Join our team as a Compliance Support Officer

Are you passionate about working with the community and making a real difference in everyday life across the Redlands? In this public-facing role, you'll support fair use of parking and help ensure responsible animal registration by providing investigative, enforcement, and administrative services across the city.

We have two maximum term contracts available, where you'll spend most of your time working in parking regulation - interacting directly with residents and visitors, addressing concerns, and helping uphold important local laws with professionalism and respect.

About us:

At Redland City Council, we are committed to serving our community with excellence. We believe in fostering an inclusive, diverse, and innovative work culture where every individual is valued and empowered to contribute their best. You'll enjoy diverse work and opportunities to grow, working in a truly special community and a region of outstanding natural beauty. In return for your passion and commitment to moving Redland Coast forward, we offer great benefits and the balance you need to bring the best you.

Guided by our Values, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting investigations and enforcement activities related to parking and animal registration, including issuing infringement notices and preparing documentation.
  • Engaging with the public to provide respectful, high-quality customer service, education, and support around local laws and responsible behaviour.
  • Managing daily workloads and priorities to meet timeframes, customer expectations, and legislative requirements.
  • Working as part of a positive, high-performing team and assisting at the Animal Shelter as needed.

What we're looking for:

We're looking for someone who thrives in a community-facing role - someone confident, approachable, and calm under pressure. You'll need to be comfortable speaking with people from all walks of life, thinking on your feet, and respectfully handling sensitive situations. Strong customer service skills are essential, along with the ability to manage conflict, educate others, and make sound decisions in line with legislation. While prior experience with investigations and interpreting local laws is ideal, what matters most is your ability to engage effectively, stay resilient in a busy and often unpredictable environment, and work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team. If you're motivated, adaptable, and ready to learn, we'll support you to grow into the rest.

More reasons to love working with us:

  • Generous leave provisions such as paid parental leave and purchased leave scheme including 17.5% loading on annual leave
  • Ex-gratia day offered during the Christmas/New Year break.
  • Access to professional and leadership development programs and education/study assistance.
  • Mentoring and coaching opportunities to increase your industry knowledge and business acumen.
  • Diverse secondment opportunities for career development.
  • Reward and recognition programs.
  • Wellbeing programs and social club.
  • Access to discounts with over 400 leading retailers.

Visit our careers page to learn more and read the stories of our incredible people.

  • You'll have a current C class driver's licence.
  • You'll be able to work flexible hours as required by operational needs, which will include weekends (penalty rates apply) on a rotational basis, or as required.
  • Successful applicants will be asked to consent to a police check. Please note that people with criminal records are not automatically barred from applying for this position. Each application will be considered on its merits.
  • To be eligible for employment, applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.

Ready to join us:

Applications will only be accepted through Council's Web Recruitment system or through OURspace for current Council employees. Hard copy and e-mailed applications will not be accepted.

To be considered, applicants must submit a:
