The BelRose Group has been exclusively engaged by Be Hers to recruit a Barista to join their welcoming café team in Hobart. We're proud to be supporting the Be Hers cause by recruiting this role pro bono.

Be Hers is a not-for-profit organisation working to end human trafficking and exploitation by empowering women through safe, purposeful employment. Their newly opened café in the heart of Hobart provides hands-on training and a supportive workplace for women rebuilding their lives. It's a place where customers enjoy great coffee, and every shift makes a meaningful impact.

As a Barista, you'll be a key part of this mission. Your role is to craft consistently excellent coffee and create an environment where everyone feels seen, welcomed, and valued. You'll be working alongside staff, volunteers, and trainees who are learning new skills and building confidence through hospitality.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages with consistency
  • Operate and maintain all coffee equipment to professional standards
  • Provide warm, respectful customer service that reflects the organisation's values
  • Keep the café clean, safe, and inviting at all times
  • Monitor supplies, manage stock, and help reduce waste
  • Support volunteers and new trainees, sharing your skills and knowledge
  • Follow café procedures and report any issues promptly

Ideal candidate:

  • Experienced barista who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality setting
  • Confident with espresso equipment and coffee-making techniques
  • Friendly and professional with a genuine love of people and coffee
  • Calm and focused, even during busy periods
  • Enjoys working in a team and helping others grow
  • Open to feedback, flexible with duties, and happy to pitch in wherever needed
  • Current Driver's Licence required; formal barista training highly regarded

This is an opportunity to be part of something bigger than a standard café job. You'll join a passionate team using hospitality to create real change for women in your local community. The café operates during daytime hours, offering a supportive work environment and meaningful daily purpose.
