Join our team as a Horticulturalist
Do you have a passion for horticulture and want to make a visible impact in your community? Redland City Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Horticulturalist (part-time, five days per fortnight) to help maintain and enhance the beautiful parks, conservation areas, streetscapes, and roadside environments across our vibrant Redlands coastal region.
As a Horticulturalist in the Parks Maintenance Services Team, you will be responsible for delivering horticultural maintenance services with minimal supervision. This is your opportunity to apply your technical knowledge and contribute to the natural beauty of Redlands while working with a dedicated and professional team.
Guided by our Values, you will:
- Deliver advanced horticultural and grounds maintenance services to Council standards and service agreements.
- Provide technical horticultural advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Operate, maintain, and ensure the safe use of plant and equipment.
- Identify and report potential safety and environmental hazards.
- Foster a positive team culture and contribute to a productive and harmonious work environment.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with the community and colleagues.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience in delivering high-quality horticultural services efficiently and effectively.
- Physically capable of performing strenuous outdoor work in various conditions.
- A team player with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
- Skilled in the use and maintenance of horticultural tools and equipment.
- Strong technical knowledge in horticulture or a related field.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
