Are you a caring, dedicated individual looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of aged care residents? Kimba Pioneer Memorial Hostel is seeking passionate Direct Care Workers to join our Residential Care Home team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Bed making
  • Bathing, showering, personal hygiene and grooming
  • Toileting / continence management
  • Maintenance of mobility / dexterity
  • Distribution of clean laundry / personal attire
  • Cleaning of equipment, aids, utensils in work area and ensuring cleanliness of clients' environment
  • Transportation of clients
  • Assist with self-administration of medication on medical authority
  • Assist with routine treatments and procedures

You will have experience in a similar role, demonstrating ability to exercise judgment and initiative. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds. Proven discretion, confidentiality, and computer skills are required.

The Region

The Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN) covers nearly 440,000 km² of South Australia, supporting about 40,000 residents on the Eyre Peninsula and Far North. The region offers a Mediterranean climate, with opportunities for surfing, fishing, hiking, and exploring the outback.

Kimba, known as 'the kindest place in Australia' and one of the best remote areas to live, has a community of 1,300 and is located halfway across Australia on the Eyre Highway.
