Overview

Welder/Fabrication Tradesperson role at Water Corporation. This is a permanent, full-time position based at the Kelmscott depot. The role is set to commence in December 2025. We are seeking hands-on, safety-focused individuals who can work on a diverse range of operational assets and contribute to WA's water future.

Key Accountabilities
  • Promote and uphold safety as the standard in all work practices.
  • Support the team in adapting to changes that improve cross-operational collaboration between operations and maintenance.
  • Deliver great service by meeting customer expectations while upholding Water Corporation values.
  • Fabrication and repairs across Treatment and Resource Recovery assets, using design standards or contributing to the Safety in Design process.
  • Keep equipment and machinery in good working order, ensuring compliance with engineering and legal standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety or efficiency and communicate these to the Team Leader.
  • Take ownership of personal safety and lead by example for the team.
Key Skills And Experience
  • Fabrication/Welding Trade qualification with experience in: repair of metal cement-lined water pipe and associated equipment within the Water Industry.
  • Fabrication of structural and pressurised services from design drawings (e.g., handrailing, pipework, gates).
  • Aluminium and stainless-steel fabrication/welding, including sheet metal work.
  • Producing drawings to initiate the Safety in Design process prior to fabrication.
  • Compliance with welding procedures and submitting test pieces to remain current.
  • Repairs to a diverse range of infrastructure assets.
Additional Qualifications
  • Current LR driver's licence.
  • Relevant High-Risk Licences (Forklift, Dogman, Elevated Work Platform).
  • Nationally recognised training in Confined Space and Working at Heights.
  • Minimum of 2 years of trade experience.
