Overview

dnata Perth Airport, Western Australia, Australia is hiring a Chef in a permanent, full-time position. Join a winning global brand and market leader in aviation catering and retail.

What does a typical day look like?

Bring culinary skills to a dedicated team of craftspeople, curating and presenting restaurant-quality meals for 40,000ft service. In the Production Team, you will work in a busy open-plan kitchen preparing and cooking various international hot and cold meals in commercial quantities for our customer airlines.

What are your main responsibilities?
  • Prepare hot and cold meals for Business & Economy class passengers for International and Domestic airline customers.
  • Manage multiple menus and bulk-prepare dishes for up to 10,000 passengers.
  • Stock control and minimising food wastage.
  • Ensure taste, consistency and presentation are at the highest standard.
  • Maintain a strictly hygienic work environment at all times.
  • Use proper techniques such as cook-chill methods for safe intermittent food storage.
  • Follow menu specifications as well as Food Safety / HACCP & OHS guidelines.
What do you need to be successful in securing this role?
  • Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent industry experience.
  • Solid knife skills, knowledge of cooking principles and techniques.
  • Passion and drive to deliver high-quality, consistent food to customers.
  • Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Motivated, hardworking attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen and meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred but not essential.
  • Clear National Police Check is required due to working in Aviation Services.
  • Availability to work 38 hours/week (full-time permanent).
