The role

As a Field Service & Installation Technician, you'll be on the ground supporting customers across VIC installing, maintaining, and servicing Matthews' equipment at a wide variety of sites. You'll be part of a supportive team that thrives on solving problems, building strong customer relationships, and keeping our customers up and production lines running.

Location: We support customers across metropolitan Melbourne, with a strong focus in the northern and western suburbs. Field work is the core of this role, and flexibility with travel is key

Your day to day will include

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers
  • Performing scheduled and preventative maintenance
  • Responding to corrective maintenance calls from customers
  • Installing and commissioning equipment sometimes across multiple day
  • Working in a mix of environments from warehouses to industrial sites
  • Completing service reports and managing spare parts
  • Training operators and ensuring safety standards are always met
  • Contributing to after-hours support and occasional travel

What you will bring to the role

  • A technical qualification (electrical/electronic trade or engineering) or strong mechanical aptitude
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills you'll be the face of Matthews on-site
  • A proactive, energetic attitude with the ability to think on your feet and work as part of a high performing team
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing priorities or environments
  • Basic networking or software familiarity (PLCs, data systems; Training will be provided)
  • A valid driver's licence
  • Flexibility for occasional interstate and regional travel, along with availability for after-hours work and participation in the on-call roster
