Overview

Responsibilities
  • Lead development and delivery of initiatives and programmes to support student inclusion and equality, including coordination of targeted programmes such as the Student Equality Collaborators programme and the Elevate programme.
  • Act as main point of contact for students participating in equality programmes, including coordinating work opportunities for the Equality Collaborators & KU Cares Connectors.
  • Project manage targeted programmes of work such as the Elevate programme, including supporting delivery and events as required.
  • Contribute to the wider work of the student inclusion team through events, campaigns and communications activity.
  • Based primarily at the Penrhyn Road campus with some home working in line with University policy; occasional Saturday work may be required to support student recruitment events (time off in lieu provided).
Person specification / Qualifications
  • Educated to first degree level or equivalent professional experience.
  • Passionate about improving the experience and outcomes for underrepresented student groups, with knowledge of widening participation and equality, diversity and inclusion as they relate to students.
  • Experience of project management and working with stakeholders to achieve objectives, with the ability to create and develop new projects to meet identified objectives.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the confidence to present to varying types and sizes of audience.
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in using online portals for student worker jobs.
Directorate / Function

The Student Directorate aims to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience for all current and future students to ensure they are "sought after" through supporting their participation, attainment and success. The Student Services team provides the University's Information Centre, Library and Learning Services, Specialist Course Support and Administration, Student Engagement and Student Life, Health and Wellbeing. Services are designed to be accessible and inclusive to ensure enquiries are resolved quickly and support is available to enable students to engage with and succeed in their studies.
