Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Derive Full time
Overview

Derive is on a mission to help businesses control and optimise a trillion dollars of B2B spend. We're building The Modern Control Layer for Spend — a platform that ensures every dollar is intentional, compliant, and intelligently allocated.

Our vision is to transform how companies make financial decisions. We do this by helping finance and procurement teams operate with greater clarity, discipline, and strategic leverage.

We combine powerful Procurement & AP software with hands-on strategic advisory. Our customers rely on us to manage purchasing, negotiate technology and SaaS spend, streamline accounts payable, and drive measurable commercial outcomes. This hybrid model delivers both cost efficiency and operational excellence.

We're scaling to meet a clear market need, with a team built for long-term execution. Our customers include leading technology, financial services, and fintech companies that are modernising how they manage spend.

The Role

This is a founding role on our services team, ideal for a high-agency procurement operator who thrives on solving commercial problems and delivering outcomes.

You will lead strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations across a portfolio of high-growth customers, with a strong focus on SaaS and IT vendor spend. You'll also work closely with our engineering and implementation teams to help customers adopt Derive's Procurement and AP automation platform.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role at the intersection of procurement, finance, and technology.

Procurement Management (80%)
  • Lead negotiations with software and technology vendors on behalf of customers
  • Identify savings opportunities across SaaS, IT, and professional services spend
  • Run full-cycle sourcing engagements, including analysis, stakeholder alignment, and deal execution
  • Act as the primary point of contact for our portfolio of customer accounts
  • Report on cost savings and commercial outcomes, and support renewals/expansions
Platform Implementation (20%)
  • Support in implementation of Derive's platform across procurement and accounts payable workflows
  • Coordinate onboarding, testing, and adoption with customer and internal teams
  • Support product rollout, process optimisation, and success tracking
What We're Looking For

We're looking for a commercially sharp operator with experience driving results in a technology procurement function. You understand enterprise buying behaviour, know how to manage stakeholders, and can negotiate confidently across a broad vendor landscape.

Requirements
  • 5+ years in procurement, strategic technology sourcing, or commercial/vendor management
  • Experience negotiating software/SaaS or IT category spend
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Confident in both internal and customer-facing roles
  • Track record of delivering savings or measurable commercial outcomes
Preferred backgrounds
  • Tech companies, financial services, or consulting
  • Exposure to procurement tech, AP automation, or ERP systems
