Aaron Plenderleith Legal is a fixed fee firm with no billable targets and which boasts a large modern office with private parking within the CBD included.

About the Role

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Criminal Lawyer to join Aaron Plenderleith Legal.

This position requires a person who is highly organised, capable of working independently, self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to appear as an advocate in criminal courts and who is passionate about providing high quality legal representation.

The successful candidate will have a strong history of advocacy and will be ready to represent the firm's clients in all court jurisdictions, and in substantial hearings, including bail applications, pleas in mitigation and trials (including jury trials).

Whilst the office is based in the Perth CBD, travel to circuit courts at various regional locations is a requirement.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

Appear as counsel in metropolitan or regional courts, including pleas in mitigation, bail applications and trials. You will also be required to appearas counsel in the District and Magistrates Courts, including jury trials.

Provide legal advice and representation to clients.

Prepare legal documents and submissions.

Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions.

Manage and resolve client cases effectively and efficiently.

Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional service.

Work collaboratively with team members and contribute to the firm's strategic goals.

Provide advice and mentoring to junior staff.

The Senior Lawyer should have 5+ years' experience in criminal law, including representation, casework in the Magistrate Court, Childrens Court and District Court. The successful candidate ought to be on the Legal Aid criminal law panels, or eligible to be included on those panels.

Ability to travel regionally when required.
