Are you passionate about clean water and the environment? Have you got the drive to work in the consulting Industry? Do you have a good sense of humour? Are you looking for flexible working arrangements and an Industry benchmarked salary package?
What will it be like working at CWT? City Water Technology is a family owned and operated, water and wastewater consultancy that has been established for over 30 years. We are located in Gordon, in the northern suburbs of Sydney. We have an inclusive and collaborative management style and flexible working arrangements, with most of us working a hybrid office/WFH arrangement. While the work we do is serious, it is important for the workplace to be fun and enjoyable, so a good sense of humour will help you fit right in.
At CWT we understand that the key to success is our people. We offer career mentoring and development and a diverse range of opportunities to be involved with. We also care about our community; we regularly support charitable organisations and encourage our staff to let us know what causes are close to heart. We are passionate about quality, safety and the environment, are certified to the international standards, and implement this into everything we do.
How will you get involved? As part of our Engineering team, you will bring along your interest in water, report writing and data analysis skills and relevant industrial experience and join us to consult on all aspects of water and recycled water systems. We assist government and private sector clients across Eastern Australia. Working collaboratively with others, you will contribute or co-ordinate the technical aspects of projects and manage workflows and budgets.
What are we looking for? With your completed degree (or in your final semester) in Chemical or Environmental Engineering and relevant water intern experience, ideally within the local water industry, you are keen to start your career. You will be eager to learn and be challenged, and be able to assist with:
- Data collection, researching, compilation and evaluation including AI development
- Preparation of technical reports with the support of other technical staff
- Proposal writing, working both independently and with other engineers to identify possible work and assist with creating winning proposals
- Supporting the engineering team with options analysis and concept designs for drinking water and recycled water
- Meeting targets for billability, company profitability and proposal success
Key skills and attributes required:
- Excellent report writing & computer skills (CADD desirable)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an aptitude for working directly with clients
- Creative problem solving, focusing on quality, time management and attention to detail
- Strong team ethic plus ability to be a self-starter
- Availability to travel locally and interstate when required
- Legal right to work in Australia
In return, CWT provides attractive career and lifestyle options including career mentoring, a collaborative work environment, professional development, annual salary reviews and flexible working arrangements.
