Overview

Responsibilities
  • Using your mastery knowledge of cooking, to plan an interesting and exciting menu for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old
  • Preparing a wide variety of nutritious meals and purees, as well as working to dietary requirements for babies and children
  • Confidently managing the kitchen autonomously, ensuring effective stock rotation, budgeting, and shopping for your kitchen
  • Ensuring the highest level of food safety and supervision in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements and Green Leaves Early Learning Standards
  • Mentoring and guiding a kitchen hand in a professional environment, to deliver the highest quality of food and service
  • Providing thoughtful culinary classes alongside Educators for the youngest learners

Ideal Qualifications
  • At least a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain upon commencement)
  • A current State Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Child Protection Training (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR and First Aid Certificates (or willingness to obtain)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities
  • Availability to work from 6:30am to 2:30pm
Desirable
  • Knowledge and experience with Qikkids and Educa (or similar platforms)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Facebook skills
