About You:

Hold a Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Work, Social Work, or similar (or be studying towards)

Australian Drivers Licence (P2 or higher)

Blue card & Yellow card

Current First Aid & CPR certificate

3 months paid experience as a Residential Youth Worker

The ability to work a mixture of day, night, and weekend shifts as required

Live in a location in QLD that is a drivable distance to Ipswich, Toowoomba, and Bundaberg

About the Position:

As a casual Residential Youth Worker with Edmen, you can make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who are living in out-of-home care. Working with some of Australia's best youth service providers, every day grants you a unique experience and adventure, empowering children and young people to live their best lives in a nurturing and safe environment.

Our rosters are done in advance, which provides some stability working in a casual environment. We also have emergency and ad hoc shifts available each week.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Establish a secure and nurturing home environment for at-risk young people
  • Offer guidance and support with personal care requirements including meal assistance and hygiene routines
  • Provide transportation for school, appointments, and community activities
  • Foster the development of skills and socialisation within the local community, alongside promoting positive pro-social peer interactions
  • Support in the administration of medications and associated reporting requirements for children on Child Protection orders
  • Provide trauma-informed care to young people who display complex behavioural issues and traumatic backgrounds
  • Engage in the Trauma Recovery practice framework and undertake Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within the first three months of employment
