Overview

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end procurement processes: sourcing, tendering, contract negotiation, supplier management.
  • Develop RFX documentation and risk strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with NHVR procurement governance; act as Probity Officer.
  • Liaise with legal services for procurement matters.
  • Advise stakeholders on sourcing and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Plan and deliver procurement initiatives on time.
  • Ensure purchases meet policy, cost, safety, and legislative standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement and strategic transformation of procurement.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Skills & Capabilities
  • Extensive procurement experience in complex organisations.
  • Expertise in high-risk, high-value tenders and contract management.
  • Strong supplier engagement and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Vendor Panel, D365, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and customer service.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity.

Highly Regarded
  • IT category procurement.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, data governance, and IT architecture.

About NHVR

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as the national entity regulating vehicles over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. NHVR aims to minimise the compliance burden on the heavy vehicle transport industry, reduce duplication and inconsistencies across state and territory borders, and support the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia. We are headquartered in Brisbane and employ more than 1000 people across ACT, NSW, Qld, SA, Tas and Vic.
