The Role

The role of the Technical Support Officer is to maintain the school's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems and network, ensuring reliability and sustainability to enhance the learning environment.

The successful applicant will ideally provide advice on technical issues and collaborate with administration to maintain and develop the network system. Suitable applicants will also provide technical support and training to all users throughout the school site on various software applications and provide access to systems and resources.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of information systems and ICT equipment in accordance with the school business needs and Department of Education policies and guidelines. This includes maintaining accurate records of ICT assets and resources and the development, implementation, and monitoring of a replacement plan.

We highly value applicants who have the ability to work as part of a versatile team, liaise with other Department of Education personnel and communicate with external providers.

  • consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.

  • Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to develop innovative solutions to information technology problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to install and maintain network systems incorporating the Internet and Electronic Mail.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills to develop effective administrative practices and the initiative to work with minimum supervision.
