Through meticulous artisan skills that include handmade chocolate creation and finishing, combined with advanced manufacturing equipment and techniques, Haigh's creates exquisite chocolates that look and taste delicious.

An exciting opportunity is now available for a Chocolate Production (Newman) Operator to join our Chocolate Production team. This role is based on the afternoon shift (2:00 pm-10:15 pm), Monday to Friday.

Reporting to the Chocolate and Manufacturing Support Supervisor, we are looking for a motivated and skilled individual with a strong grasp of technical principles and a commitment to safe, efficient operations. The ideal candidate will also have experience with lean manufacturing practices and a focus on continuous improvement in a production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Roast cocoa beans and process chocolate according to production standards.
  • Execute the production plan efficiently and maintain high-quality output.
  • Maintain exceptional hygiene and cleaning standards for work areas and equipment.
  • Promote and adhere to WHS policies and procedures.
  • Operate PLC systems and support efficient production practices, including lean principles.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues for plant and equipment.
Qualifications
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills under time pressure.
  • Mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Knowledge of production equipment and technical principles.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Comfortable working at heights and physically fit for production tasks.
  • Forklift, elevated work platform and high-risk work licences (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience in engineering or process industries (such as batch plants, boilers, or beverage manufacturing) and/or chocolate production is preferred.
