Department of Vascular Surgery are looking for Staff Specialist (Vascular Surgery) to join their team. This role provides specialist Vascular and Endovascular Surgery to patients and assumes overall responsibility for patient care. It includes the full range of clinical duties – operating theatre, outpatients, ward rounds and on call.

About The Role

Services provided include:

  • Provides specialist services at Princess Alexandra Hospital and includes outreach to other Metro South Hospital and Hospital Health Services.
  • Provides inpatient care, including participating in the on-call roster
  • Undertakes elective and emergency surgery
  • Provides inpatient consultations.
  • Provides outpatient
  • Participates in multidisciplinary clinics and meetings, included audit and morbidity and mortality meetings.
  • Supervision and teaching of registrars, junior doctors and medical students, and teaching for other members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Participation and or leadership of research and quality improvement activities
  • Involvement in Vascular Surgery administrative tasks including triaging.
  • Support +/- reporting for the Vascular Ultrasound Laboratory
  • Provide on-call and emergency surgery to paediatric patients at the Queensland Children's Hospital
