Role Description

This is an on-site role in North Brisbane and Deception Bay, Queensland, for a Disability Support Worker. Ideally, a female candidate who is comfortable driving a van is preferred. The Disability Support Worker will be responsible for providing personalised care and support to individuals with disabilities. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with daily living activities, facilitating community participation, implementing individualised support plans, monitoring and safeguarding the well-being of participants, and maintaining open and effective communication with participants, their families, and team members.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personalised care and support to individuals with disabilities.
  • Assist with daily living activities and personal cares as needed.
  • Facilitate community participation and engagement in activities.
  • Implement and monitor individualised support plans.
  • Monitor the wellbeing and safeguarding of participants.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with participants, their families, and team members.
Qualifications
  • Experience as a Support Worker or relevant field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures
  • Compassionate and patient with a strong commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant certifications or training in Disability Support or similar field
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
