LO-GO Appointments QLD is seeking an experienced Workplace Health & Safety Coordinator for temporary assignment with a regional QLD Council.
PositionThis is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with supervisors, crews, and contractors to ensure a safe and compliant workplace across a range of council operations. You'll be responsible for hazard management, incident investigations, safety training, and return-to-work programs, as well as driving a positive safety culture in diverse and dynamic environments.
QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will have :
- Diploma in Workplace Health & Safety (or higher)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a WHS role, ideally within Local or State Government
- Construction Industry Induction (Blue / White Card)
- Current 'C' Class Driver Licence
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and ability to apply it practically
- Proven experience developing and implementing safety management systems
- Skilled in incident response, investigations, and reporting
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Highly regarded: Rehabilitation & Return to Work Coordinator qualification
- Highly regarded: Experience conducting plant and machinery accreditations
- To be considered, you must hold proven experience supporting WHS initiatives within a State and / or Local Government environment.
- Hourly rate negotiable, depending on experience
- Self-contained accommodation provided for the duration of the assignment
- Travel costs covered at the start and end of the placement
