Overview

Town Planning Cadet - full-time maximum period of up to 24 months. Mid-Western Regional Council is offering a graduate opportunity to an eligible candidate completing their Bachelor's Degree in Town Planning. The cadet will be mentored by Council employees in the Statutory Planning team.

Responsibilities
  • Working across all facets of statutory planning, including duty enquiries, development assessment, compliance, and policy.
  • Gain hands-on experience across all facets of statutory, development assessment, compliance, and policy.
  • Be involved with activities across urban, rural and environmental planning matters.
  • Work alongside an experienced planning team.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or studying in your penultimate or final year a Bachelor of Planning (or equivalent) at a registered education provider.
  • General computer literacy including basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and email and internet programs.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to apply planning theory to real-work situations.
  • Strong organisational skills and time management with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Highly motivated with willingness to learn.
Salary and Benefits

The salary range offered for this full-time position is $2, $2,460.80 gross per fortnight plus superannuation, equating to an annual salary of $58, $63,980.80 gross plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).
