Be a Part of KU Children's Services Exciting Growth

This position has been created as part of the recently implemented KU Children's Services Teachers Enterprise Agreement 2025, a landmark development that continues to set new standards within the early childhood education sector. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Australia's most trusted not-for-profit early childhood providers where your work is valued, your growth is supported, and your impact on children's lives is genuinely recognised.

Kooinda Workbase Child Care Centre is a welcoming, purpose-built 56-place long day care nestled in the leafy bushland of the University of Newcastle campus. Meaning "a happy place" in Awabakal, Kooinda fosters community, nature connection, and a passionate team, many with KU experience spanning 5 to 20 years.

Children explore a large yard with cubbies, climbing frames, and mud kitchens, enjoying outdoor adventures and sustainability-focused activities using natural, upcycled materials.

Staff enjoy a bright, peaceful break room and are encouraged to bring their own interests into the classroom. Easily accessible by public transport or car, Kooinda offers a supportive, creative environment where children and educators thrive.

This opportunity will see you join the team 20.85 hours per week

Of course, you will need:

  • A current NSW Working with Children Check
  • An ACECQA recognised Diploma
