The Discovery Garden Early Education, Care and Preschool is a family owned child care centre with a wonderfully supportive culture for all of our staff, families and children. Our service provides high quality care in a beautiful environment for up to 110 children every day.

We are looking for a passionate, motivated and skilled cook to take on the responsibility of designing and preparing an exciting, delicious, fresh and wholesome menu for our children each day.

Applicants with enthusiasm, a positive outlook and are excited about children's nutrition positive outlook are invited to apply.

Successful applicants within the role will:

  • Have or have applied for a working with children check
  • Be responsible for designing and auditing an appropriate rotating menu for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years which includes children with allergies and intolerances,
  • Be responsible for all ordering and stock control,
  • Be able to work autonomously, be reliable and well organised,
  • Be able to maintain high levels of cleanliness and order expected in a safe kitchen,
  • Be able to engage positively with Educators and children within the service.
  • Holding a Certificate 3 in Cookery is preferred, but not essential with training able to be provided
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate preferred but not essential as training is able to be provided
