The Role

Increment's Identity & Security Solutions Practice takes a hands-on approach to designing, implementing, and enhancing Microsoft IAM, IGA, and security solutions for our clients. We bring deep expertise across Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Defender Suite and Microsoft Sentinel, helping organisations maximise their Microsoft investments, while advancing security and business objectives, such as increasing zero trust maturity or reducing operational risk though ecosystem consolidation.

The role of Technical Consultant – Deployment Engineer has an initial focus on a large-scale identity transformation to migrate identities and applications from numerous decentralised sources onto a consolidated Microsoft Entra based identity and access management platform. With opportunities for growth in other technologies delivered by the practice, you will thrive in the role by harnessing your practical experience in crafting secure and innovative solutions across Microsoft's identity ecosystem that bridge cloud and on-premises environments while adhering to industry best practices.

You will be at the forefront of Microsoft's evolving security landscape, while collaborating with customers and internal teams to solve complex business problems. You will be at the leading edge of practical implementations: Building Conditional Access frameworks; Implementing Privileged Identity Management; Migrating applications from competing platforms such as Okta; Securing access to applications using Entra Identity Governance; Deploying Entra Private Access and Windows Hello for Business.

You will be versatile and involved in all aspects of customer engagements; from planning, through build, test and troubleshooting to post implementation support, supported by a strong team of delivery and technology professionals that are passionate about creating exceptional secure identity experiences for customers.

Melbourne based preferred but national applicants will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Planning, scheduling and executing identity migration and synchronization activities.

Installing and configuring MicrosoftEntra ID Cloud Sync agents and confirming successful attribute synchronisation.

Assessing and aligning Conditional Access, MFA policies and RBAC roles that align with established design, and Zero‑Trust security baselines.

Running PowerShell and Microsoft Graph scripts to automate repeatable tasks.

Troubleshooting synchronisation, SSO and device join issues, escalating to architects or vendor support where required.

Co‑ordinating and consolidating Enterprise Application registrations and migrations activities.

Testing and validating post‑migration access for users, devices and applications, and driving remediation of defects.

Updating dashboards, contributing to CAB packs and communicating status to the Migration delivery team.

Capturing lessons learned and collaborating with engineers, architects, and delivery teams to refine technical approaches and adjust based on migration learnings.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

Microsoft certifications in Security or Identity Management (SC-200, SC-300, MS-500, or similar)

Tertiary graduate in a relevant field

Skills and Experience:

Proven capability delivering MicrosoftEntra ID solutions at scale, including Cloud Sync, Conditional Access and MFA.

Strong administration background with on‑premises Active Directory, hybrid identity topologies and GPO.

Successful track record migrating identities and data across Active Directory, GoogleWorkspace and Microsoft365, and Intune.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn just-in-time and adapt to evolving requirements.

Motivated Team Player, ready to learn from the broader Increment team, and to support members of the team as they cultivate new skills.

Proficiency with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph skills for automation and reporting.

Experience working in schools, education, or multi-tenant identity environments is advantageous.
