About the RoleThe Environmental Health team is seeking an Environmental Health Student to assist in delivering the team's portfolio of responsibilities. The team is responsible for the delivery and coordination of all Environmental Health Statutory functions, including food safety, infectious disease control, tobacco control, community education and nuisance complaints. This role is based on progressive learning under the support of the Environmental Health team and will perform with a limited level of autonomy to achieve unit outcomes.
You will be responsible for:
- Assisting Environmental Health Officers in delivering services to the community
- Providing a high standard of customer service to the community
- Providing high level administrative support to deliver services
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
- Currently studying the Graduate Diploma of Environmental Health Practice or equivalent
- Understanding and applying statutory requirements, regulations, and Council policies relevant to Environmental Health
- Ability to undertake investigations, prepare reports and correspondence as required
- Ability to work in a team as well as an individual
- Ability to manage time, set priorities, plan and organise one's own work
- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
